Your Gift, Your Choice

As well as supporting the work of your local church, you can also leave a gift to support the Church’s work in your region and nationally or internationally too. Download this leaflet for some inspiration.

For example, your diocese probably has its own Mission Fund which makes grants to parishes across your region for community engagement and mission projects. Your gift could help churches in poorer parts of your region with their mission and ministry or fund an exciting regional project to work with young people or refugees. There is also your local cathedral, a spiritual focus for visitors, worshippers and pilgrims from near and far. Your gift to your cathedral would help preserve it for future generations and extend its mission today.

You could also leave a gift to the work of the Church nationally (to the Church and Community Fund [www.ccfund.org.uk], for example, or to support retired clergy in need [www.cepb.org.uk/appeals] or to special projects of the Archbishops’ Council such as the Weddings Project [ www.yourchurchwedding.org]. Even small gifts can make a difference to the mission of the Church to every man, woman and child in the country, in rural hamlets, leafy suburbs and urban estates.

Don’t forget the work of the Church internationally too. Your diocese probably has its own mission link, and mission agencies such as CMS or the Salvation Army, or international development charities such as Christian Aid, Tearfund, World Vision or Five Talents could make your gift go a long way too. See http://www.churchofengland.org/our-faith/mission/world-mission/mission-agencies.aspx for a list of the Church’s mission agencies.

If you would like to leave gifts to several parts of the Church in your Will as well as to your parish church, you may be interested in the new Church Legacy Service.
